As many of you know, I started One More Round a year ago. My life was at a crossroads and after spending a night watching Rocky with my kids and stumbling across a little book titled "One More Round" I got an idea. The message of One More Round was truly inspirational to me and kept me awake spinning with ideas. I wanted to create a message and a company that would strike at the human soul. These three words when applied to life are so powerful. I never realized how powerful and prophetic the One More Round message would have in my own life.

My close friend Art Montalvo helped me create the concept for One More Round. We talked in detail about all the meanings of One More Round and how it applies to life, sports, business, drinking, and difficult issues like cancer and chemotherapy.

Less than two months ago, Art was over my house with his wife Ceci and their girls Mikayla 12 and Paulina 14. Our families are very close. I have a little girl, Halle, who has grown up with Mikayla and they are like sisters. While over our house, Ceci mentioned how her back hurt. I laughed and told Art to trade her in on a new model!

Man, how our lives changed in the two months since that day. Ceci was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer...a truly ravaging and extremely painful cancer. Only 5 percent of those afflicted with this cancer are operable...Ceci, thankfully, was one of them. Following a life threatening 14 hour surgery, Ceci came through. The first thing she said to Art when she woke up from surgery was, "you can't get rid of me yet".

Watching Ceci go through this fight has made my battles seem meaningless. Business is challenging and just when I think it's too hard to go on, I think about Ceci. Ceci embodies the One More Round message...she struggles every day fighting to beat this thing. Ceci has driven me to fight hard for the message of "One More Round".

I now know why I have been driven with this company. It's not about how much clothing I can sell, it’s about making a difference. I am surrounded by athletes and friends that live by the "One More Round" message…those not willing to accept defeat at any cost.

I am working on a project, a charity that will help fight for a cure of pancreatic cancer. Our One More Round athletes have been great and are willing to help my cause. I am working on raising money to donate directly to the charity.

Most of us know someone who has been afflicted with cancer...it takes not only a physical toll on all involved, but it also takes an emotional toll and it is almost more than anyone can bear. My goal is to not only raise money for a cure, but to find a way to uplift those struggling and hopefully get them to understand the "One More Round" message. Positive thoughts and energy can sometimes be the best medicine to get us through just about anything.

In closing, please note that I am not asking for anything other than awareness and a prayer for a close friend. This is not about buying our product, or a marketing ploy of any sort. This is about my friend fighting for her girls and all the families that are going through the same.

Please remember how powerful the "One More Round" message is. Hopefully this fight can help to inspire all my friends in their own life.

I promise all of you I will do my best to see this come to fruition. It is now an obsession and a driving force in my life. This beautiful friend deserves to live "Many More Rounds" and I will do anything in my power to help the cause.
